Sam dropped to his knees one again, bring his face in his hands. "Akira..." was all he was able to mutter. He sighed shakily and got up, walking to the sub with his shoulders slumped. Madelyn tried to follow, but he turned around and snapped, his voice cracking, "Get out of here" before walking into the sub. He collapsed on his bed, unable to hold in the tears.

Akira was drifting somewhere between alive and dead. She heard a voice tell her gently that she had to go back but she had a choice to stay if she wanted to. She picked to go back to Sam. Everything became clear again as she floated outside of the sub. She glanced behind her in wonder as she caught a glimpse of her white wings. "Oh wow..." She mumbled, reached back to touch the silky feathers. She swam into the sub and walked cautiously to the door of the bedroom. She saw Sam lying there crying. She frowned. She didn't like seeing Sam so unhappy. Moving to his side, she gently stroked his back. "Sam....hey...what's wrong?" She asked, unaware that she had actually died.

Sam narrowed his eyes as his head snapped up, initially thinking it was Madelyn. "Where-" suddenly something popped into his mind and he looked at her chin. No little mole/beauty mark thingy. He looked at Akira in wonder and confusion before throwing himself at her. He pulled her into a tight hug, never wanting to let go. The tears were still falling, but now they were of joy. She was back. He had no idea how, but she was back and that was all she cared about. "What's wrong?! Akira, you died!" He cried eventually, telling himself to man up as he stopped crying.

Akira was surprised but pleased when he threw himself at her and wrapped her in a big hug. She hugged him back, although it was a little uncomfortable because of her big wings. She smiled and pulled back to give him a kiss. "What do you mean I died?" She asked, frowning. She felt a small pain over her heart and looked down. There was a small scar there. She remembered now. Madelyn had stabbed her. She sunk down onto the bed and sat there. "My sister....stabbed me. She killed me." She held back tears as she looked down. "And Ash attacked you...why?" She asked herself. Had he found out about the engagement from Madelyn? He must have. Otherwise he wouldn't have been so violent." She frowned. "I'm sorry Sam. I didn't realize they would act like they did. I should have seen that coming. But Madelyn...I didn't think she'd be upset enough to kill me."

Sam sat down next to her. He shook his head, "Me either. But you're back now." It was then he was fully aware of the wings. "Woah" he said, looking at the big white wings covered in feathers. He put his arm around her. "I'm so glad you're still here" he said, but he couldn't bring himself to smile. He knew Akira was confused and hurt. Her sister had killed her, who wouldn't be?

Akira smiled and glanced back at her big white wings. "Aren't they cool?" she asked, partially to herself. She reached back and stroked the feathers lightly. "I guess once a merperson dies they come back as like...and angel merperson," she said in wonder. She looked at him and touched his cheek with a gentle smile. "It's okay Sam. You can smile again. I'm not leaving you." She hugged him, wishing she could see him smile again. The fight seemed to have changed him. He seemed worried and uncomfortable. "Are you okay?" she asked, concerned.

Akira smiled at his concern. "Okay. I love you, Sam." She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him, knowing it must have been horrible for him to watch her die.

"I love you too, Akira." Sam kissed her back but it was alittle uncomfortable for both of them because of Akira's wings. He pulled away after a minute and saw look of concentration pass her face, then her wings folded into her back. Sam shook his head, still amazed, before kissing her again, thus time wrapping his arms around her as well.

She doesn't have to be able to retract her wings :p

Akira smiled. "They kinda get in the way...don't they?" She asked, referring to her newly acquired wings. "I don't know why I'd need them underwater....I should test them in the air sometime." She said with a small smile. Their lips met again and she tightened her arms around his neck, deepening the kiss. Now that she knew that she couldn't actually die, she felt a lot safer. One obstacle cleared. Now the question was: could he die? She didn't want to find out. That would be heartbreaking for her. She could imagine how much it hurt him to see her die, but she couldn't imagine being in his place.

Sam wrapped his arms around Akira, still kissing her. They stayed like that for awhile, but he pulled away with a small sigh. He rested his head against the wall, but then lifted it again and leaned it against Akira's (if that makes sense). He gently brought his hand up and stroked her hair. "Wat would I do without you?" he murmured, shaking his head slightly and bringing his lips back to hers again..

Akira smiled and gave him a small peck on the lips. "I don't know. What would I do without you?" She asked with a small smile. She pushed him against the wall and smiled. "Do you plan on having any kids?" She asked, her voice almost a purr as she leaned in to kiss him again. Their lips met in a sweet embrace and she smiled against his lips. She was almost curled around him, as close to him as possible. She didn't hear the sub door open or the footsteps that walked to the doorway. It was out of her line of vision so she didn't see Ash standing there, a hurt look on his face.

At her question, he replied quietly, "Only if you do", and then her lips were on his again. Unlike Akira, Sam could see the front of the sub and pulled away when Ash came in. He nodded toward the door silently, sitting up and putting his arm around Akira as Ash came in, both to comfort her and to restrain her, in case she got angry. Hey, you never know.

Akira smiled at his response. "Okay then." She frowned when he pulled away. Seeing him gesture towards the door, she turned and saw Ash. "Ash.." she whispered, anger and hurt flowing through her. She cringed back into Sam's embrace when Ash came into the room. "Go away Ash..." She murmured. Ash stopped, remorse showing in his eyes. "So...you two are getting married?" He asked, staring at Akira. Akira nodded a little and bit her lip, anticipating his reaction. She half expected him to slap her or punch her or Sam. Ash's gaze moved to look at Sam. "Can you leave us alone for a minute?" He asked, clenching his hands into fists.

Sam frowned deeply at Akira's reaction, but rubbed her arm gently. He watched Ash quietly, and when he asked to have a moment alone with Akira, he hesitated and looked at her, silently asking her what she wanted to do.

Akira glanced at Sam and saw the question in his eyes. Did she want to talk to Ash alone? Or did she not trust him? Truthfully she didn't trust him but she wanted to speak to him alone. She nodded silently to Sam, letting him know it was okay. Once Sam had left the room she walked closer to Ash, opening her mouth to ask him why he had come here when he threw himself at her. Suddenly he was kissing her again. His kisses were furious and needy. She could tell he was mad about their engagement and was trying to make up for lost time. She put her hands on his chest to push him away but he was too strong. He pushed her down onto the bed and she heard a crack and a sharp pain as one of her wings broke. He was on top of her and trying to pull of her clothes. This could not end well. She tried to kick him but he pinned her down with his weight. He had come on a mission and he was going to achieve it.

Sam walked out of the sub, narrowing his eyes a bit at Ash. He walked out of the sub and swam around nervously...He hadnt heard Akira scream but he just had a feeling in his gut something was going to go wrong with this guy. Quietly, he swam over to the window, unable to be in the dark anymore. His eyes widened and a wave of hurt washed over him. From the angle the window was at, it didn't look as if she was fighting him...but a split second later, he realized how stupid that was, and quickly swam back to the sub, silently walking to the back. Sam put a finger to his lips as Akira saw him, planning a way to grab ash. . He would have to act fast, because he was now fiddling with the belt and his pants, that had appeared when he gained legs. He made his arm into a ^ shape, grabbing Ash from behind. He yanked up , pulling a surprised ash with him. He then proceeded to punch him in the stomach and elbow him in the lower back before kicking his shins- letting him fall flat on his face.

Akira stopped fighting when she saw Sam come in. She looked at him, noticing him motion for her to keep quiet. Ash smiled when she stopped fighting. "That's a good girl. Just stay still." Suddenly he was pulled off of her by Sam. He flailed his arms trying to break away from his strong grip. He had been caught! Mission failed! Mission failed badly! He was about to attack Sam back when he was punched in the stomach, elbowed in his lower back, and then kicked in his shins. He fell to the floor, out of breath. He lay gasping for air from the punch to the stomach. Akira looked down at Ash in horror. She felt bad that he was getting hurt but he had attacked her! She ignored his hurt frame laying on the floor and turned to look at her wing. It was bent at a weird angle. She frowned. "Hm. That hurts." She started experimenting with it, hearing the bones grind together then slip apart again. She grit her teeth against the pain.

Sam watched Ash, wondering if he should've hit him harder. He felt no pity....Until he came back to his senses. Then he looked at Ash and bit his lip slightly, but turned to Akira. He watched her fumble with her wing and frowned deeper. He sat down next to his fiance and gently examined her wing. He had no clue what to do. Did she need to go to, like, a...wing doctor or something? He kissed her cheek quietly, then looked back at Ash as he started to get up.

Ash wrapped his arms around his stomach and gasped as he tried to regain the air that was blasted out of him when Sam had punched him. When he finally got his breath back, he started to get up then saw Sam looking at him and quickly dropped to the floor again, not wanting to fight. Akira looked up as Sam sat next to her and she smiled through the pain. "Too much drama around here," she said, trying to lighten the mood. Truthfully, a lot of drama was going on. She noticed him examine her wing and she bit her lip. "It's broken. I'm not sure how to fix it. I haven't seen any other merpeople with wings..."

Sam frowned in Ash's direction as he droppedback to the floor, but turned back to look at Akira as she spoke. He gave her a hug, an awkward one because of her wings. At her attempt to lighten the mood, he smiled a bit. "We'll find a way" he promised her. He looked at her wing again and laid his hands on it gently. He felt something happen and her wing shifted, repairing itself. He took his hands off and looked at them in wonder. Then he almost fell off the bed as Akira tacklehugged him xD. He hugged her back, noticing her wings retract (or not lol) and kissed her on the cheek, sitting up again. He rubbed her back for a minute, before looking down at Ash.

Akira saw him frown at Ash and she placed a hand on his cheek. "Calm down. You already got him on the floor," she said with a smile. She felt his hands on her wings and heard his reassuring words. Her eyes widened as she felt a cool sensation on the broken part of her wing. She looked at it in wonder as at the touch of his hands the bones repaired themselves. She looked up at him, eyes wide in surprise. "You healed my wing just by touching it...that is so cool! She grinned and tacklehugged him, knocking him over on the bed. She giggled and let her wings retract so they wouldn't get broken again. Having wings would take some getting used to. She sat up and smiled. "That's an amazing power that you have there."

Akira saw his glance at Ash and turned her gaze to the prone form on the floor. "Ash." Ash quickly looked at her and sat up slowly. She smiled a little. "I'm sorry but you shouldn't have tried to do that to me." He looked down at the floor and nodded silently. She slipped off the bed and sat in front of him. "I know this is big news....but....you have Sarah.." Ash looked up at her, tears in his eyes. He quickly moved forward and hugged her, his sobs breaking lose. He cried against her shoulder and she held him as he cried. She sighed. "Oh Ash..." She rubbed his back and glanced at Sam.
