I wandered through the streets of downtown, looking in the windows of the shops. Occasionally I would stop in on and see what they had. Nothing interesting usually. But I had found this one sweatshirt that I really liked so I bought it. When I got bored I wandered towards the nearest resteraunt and stopped inside to get a drink, not realizing until I walked in that it was a bar. I went to sit down at a booth when I realized that the only people there were drunk men. When I realized it was a bar, I ran out the door and into the small, packed parking lot. A bunch of men on motercycles whistled at me and calle in my direction but I just ran I'm the opposite directoon until I wa far enough away. I kept walking until finally I sat on a plastic bench on the sidewalk and started reading a book I picked up at the library. The cover didnt look half bad and I needed something to occupy my time. When I started reading the book, I didn't even get a page through before I decided I was bored. I set the book on the bench beside my hip and looked around. For a few moments I just kinda people watched.

When Cayden finally arrived at the park, it took him a minute or two to find Shyann. Once he did, he stopped with a smile on his face and watched her play with a little dog. Her's, probably. It was exciting to see her enjoy herself with an animal, she looked so into it. He hesitated for moment, thinking about what he would say. When he finally figured out something to say, he slowly approached her, his hands in his pockets casually, and gave her a smile. "Hey," He said "Is that your dog?" Cayden asked, motioning with his thumb to the dog that was running their way.

Rileigh silently gasped as she felt his hand turn her around. Within seconds, she felt his warm lips on her cheek. Her eyes widened in surprisment and her cheeks burned the color of a rose. She smiled nervously after he'd told her that he'd see her at school. After he turned around, her face was still red. She brought her hand to her arm and pinched it, just to make sure this was real life. Surprisingly, she didn't awake from her dream. Or was it not a dream? She slowly brought her hand to where he'd kissed her and she let out a toothy grin before she gladly walked off to the main office, Dane on her mind the whole way there and back.

"I-I can't.. Sorry." Matthew told Dayna, he cheeks reddening again. It was true, he couldn't. First of all, he had to be home to finish his homework and second of all, he didn't feel like embarrassing himself in front of a pretty girl. He's been down that road before, and he's not taking it again. "I would.. But I have to get home. Maybe another time?" He said, regretting it instantly as it left his mouth. Normally he could control what came out of his mouth since he rarely spoke to people, but this time was different.

Dayna: I shrugged lighty before I tucked a loose lock of my bright,, thick, wa y hair behind my earlobe again. I hated when it became loose, I really did, it just got on my nerves the way it was just hanging there. Doing nothing at all except sitting there. "Uhh, sure, if, if you want to, I mean, you don't have to." I said kind of nervously. "Just, like, hang out." I continued, "Or something." I added. "Uhh, yeah, maybe. I uhh, I think I should be going." I said, as I made a smile go onto my lips before I started to leave, realising that I was going the wrong way, I turned to go the other way, as I passed Matthew, I was blushing, "Oops, wrong way." I said, embarassed, as I started to go hoome the right way.

As Cayden finally came to the park, and Shasta was bounding back to Shyann with the ball in his mouth, Shyann smiled. She looked up as soon as she heard footsteps. When Shasta came back, the husky bounced to the new male, and smelled him. Shyann smiled as soon as she heard his voice. "Hey.." She said back, with a smile. "Yeah, that's Shasta." She said. As soon as the dog heard his name, his ears perked up, and he looked at his master.

Cayden smiled at the dog, and bent down to pet it. "Hey Shasta," He said as he scratched behind the dog's ear. Once he stood up, he looked up at Shyann for the first time since he got to the park. He noticed her eye was getting to be a dark color, purplish almost. Like she'd been hit. "Hey, did you get hit or something? You're eye.." He decided to stop there, just in case.

"Wait!" Matthew called before Dayna went out of hearing distance from him. "Umm... How about the-uh-ice cream parlor down on Main Street? (OOC: Creative right?) Name you're time," He said somewhat confidently, as if he'd known the girl for a few weeks. Which he obviously hadn't.

Foster: He shrugged and stuffed his hand into his pockets. "Ie been around here a while, not too long." Hearing what she said, he saw his opportunity. "Maybe I could show you around? I'm pretty good with direction and I happen to know where most things are." Looking at her, he was rather curious as to what she would say in response to his offer. There were only two options really. No, or yes. He hoped more for the latter, but at least he tried.

Harry: He walked out of the shoe store, stuffing his paycheck into his wallet. Working there had its benefits but it was just a for now job. Besides, it provided a good cash flow. Walking down the sidewalk, he rubbed the backside of his neck trying to figure out what he was going to do. Once he walked past a girl sitting on a bench, he gave her a slight smile and a half wave.

Dane: Getting back home finally, he flopped down onto his bed and couldn't get rid of the smirk on his face. Foster wasn't home, so he was alright to do as he pleased. Running a hand through his hair, he turned on the tv and flipped through the channels before just deciding to go bed. School would be interesting anyway and he couldn't exactly wait.

Once Rileigh got home, she immediately wanted to sleep so that she could get the night over faster and she could see Dane at school tomorrow. She was excited, but also nervous. What if they started acting weird, since Dane kissed her. Wait, it wasn't that big of a deal. It was a cheek kiss, something people always do. She shouldn't be.. fangirling.. over something as simple as that. It was ridiculous. Rileigh climbed into bed after putting on her pajamas, then fell asleep.

She smiled as Shasta's tail seemed to be going a mile a minute as soon as Cayden said his name. She chuckled, and when he stood to his feet again, she tossed the ball in front of her, and Shasta bounded after it. She put a hand up to her face as he asked, and sighed a little. "I.. uh.. ran into a pole..." She almost made it seem like a question instead of a statement. She was bad at lying, and especially bad a lying when she was around a male, any male at that. She sighed, knowing he wouldn't believe her... "It was my foster dad.." She said, her voice small.

It was very hard for Cayden to understand why her foster dad would hit her. "What? Why did he do this to you?" He asked, reaching up to grab her hand that was covering the bruise. He stood close to her, so close that he could almost feel the heat coming off of her body. He ran his thumb ever so gently over her swollen eye, as if he was a doctor. Of course he wasn't, but he had some experience.

Her face twitched ever to slightly as his thumb ran over her eye. She gently placed her hand on his wrist, and curled her fingers around it. She sighed lightly and heard the Husky paws come running back to her. She felt the heat off of his body, and she almost absorbed it... He was just so amazing... She looked up into his eyes, and got lost in them for a while... She didn't want to speak.

Dayna: I couldn't believe that he had just said that, a smile spread accross my face as I walked back over to him, "Uhm, any time after school and before nine pm is fine." I said with another small smile. Yeah, I had a curfew made by my brother to be in by nine PM, for the first six months of living in an area, ten PM after a year, eleven PM after two years, twelve after three years, and later on special occasions.

"Does he do this to you often?" Cayden asks, taking his hand off her eye and putting it on the small of her back. He led her to the nearest bench and sat down next to her. He couldn't take his eyes off of her, and he didn't want to be far from her anymore. It felt like he had to protect her, now that he knew her foster dad hit her. He didn't want it happening again.

"Is 5 okay?" Matthew asked, watching as she got closer. His hands clenched around his dorm keys in his pocket. He was nervous, for a reason unknown.

She sighed lightly as he moved his hand from her eye to her back, and led her to the bench. She sat down, and looked at him for a moment. She nodded as an answer to his question. "Yeah.. He does.." She whispered. She sighed again, and leaned against him. Putting her head on his shoulder. Shasta came back and dropped the ball on the bench.

Cayden sighed, "I'm sorry... Is there anything I can do? I'll do anything. I just don't want him to hurt you again, it just... makes me mad." He admitted. He imagined in his head what they looked like, with her head on his shoulder and his arm around her. They probably looked like a couple, no doubt. Too bad we aren't... He thought.

Matthew smiled. "Okay.. I'll, uhm, see you then." He told her. He awkwardly started walking away from Dayna, towards his house. He got there in about 10 minutes since he was on foot. He unlocked the door then walked in and fell on the couch and sighed. Dayna was the first girl he had really spoken to in a while, that was his age any way. By a while, he means about 2 years. 2 and a half years ago, Matthew had a girlfriend. Back then, he wasn't shy, he didn't keep to himself and he didn't stay in most of the day. Why? He was in love, he left like it couldn't be stopped. Cassidy was half his life if not all. They'd been together for 5 years before she was diagnosed with brain cancer. He lost her within just a few months. After her death, Matthew wanted to die just so he could be with her again. Of course, his dad wouldn't let that happen. So here he is, living the life in this boring city. Going to school, trying to get an education for his dad. Maybe, he thought, Cassidy would want me to move on. She would want me to be happy, to not mourn over her my whole life. And maybe, maybe that's what I'll do.
