Re: Dedicated to Wolves and Society
Adelaide hugged him back and was grateful when he changed the subject. Thank goodness, thought Adelaide. She couldn't talk about it anymore. She hated what was going on, but what could she do? Shaking her head slightly at her thoughts, Adelaide pushed those thoughts away. It was all too much for her sixteen year-old self.
Adelaide glanced at Jake, searching his face quickly for any signs of pity. She wasn't any stranger to pity. She'd seen it often enough. She hated pity. If there was one thing a person needed to know about Adelaide Pent, it was to not show how sorry you felt for the girl around her.
"What would you like to do today?" Jake asked, pulling Adelaide back and out of her thoughts. Adelaide shrugged. "Anything other than doing sitting and doing nothing," she said with the smallest trace of a smile.
Adelaide looked up at the little girl. She smiled. There was always something about little kids that made her smile no matter what. Maybe it was their innocent little faces that made Adelaide melt. She didn't know what it was, and it's not like her life depended on it if she did know. Adelaide was still smiling when Jake sat back down.
Sorry, I didn't know what to write.

Jake
Jake chuckled when she said pretty much anything. " Would you like to go for a drive?" He asked looking over at her with a white smile. " Maybe go out to the falls." The falls was a huge lake that not many people new about, Jake had taken her there before, but they haven't been for a while. It sounded like a good thing to do until school got out. Swiming and hiking where good to do around there. Jake didn't even wait for her to answer, he just grabbed his keys and looked over at her. " Come on." Jake call some of the dogs out of the house and they jumped into the back of the truck.

Sorry I haven't been around lately....
Adelaide grinned at his suggestion of a trip to the falls. She was excited at the thought of it. She remembered the first time Jake took her to it. It was amazingly, mind-blowing. Adelaide fidgeted excitedly in her seat and opened her mouth to speak, but Jake had already confirmed the 'adventure.' Jake knew Adelaide for so long he always knew what was going on in Adelaide's head. He'd always know what she was gonna say before she said it.
Adelaide stood up, reaching her full height of five foot, two inches. She smiled a light-hearted little smile, the first one of its kind that day. Adelaide walked outside, leaving her backpack back at the table. She'd get it later. Three hundred pound backpack filled with textbooks and papers weren't exactly essential for a trip to the falls. Adelaide grinned at the dogs. Standing up on her tiptoes, Adelaide scratched one of the dog's ears. She glanced at the passenger seat door. Adelaide opened up the door and sat down on the seat. Her arm lazily trailed out the open car window.

Jake
Jake smiled over at her, and turned up the music like they always did in the truck, making the sperakers boom. Jake smiled and sang the saw that was playing The Drug In Me Is You, by Falling In Reverce. Jake gave her a warm smile as he drove. Pulling in at the lake Jake stopped the truck, but left it on so they could listen to the playing music.
Jake got out of the car and opened the tail gate letting the dogs jump out. He walked back over to where she was. " So watcha wanna do?" He asked turning up the music to they couls here it all around the lake. The best thing about coming here was that you almost never saw another person. Not many people knew about the place. Jake looked at around and watched as the dogs jumped into the lake. " Wanna swim?" Jake asked looking over at her then back to the clear blue lake. " I love it here." He said with a small smile.

Adelaide grinned and took off her seatbelt. She stepped out the truck. Adelaide closed her eyes and took a deep breath of air, breathing everything in. It was so beautiful. She walked around, amazed just like the first time she came. Adelaide opened her eyes, her brown eyes taking everything it. The sun was shining, making it warm. A little too warm for Adelaide. She pulled off her jacket and put in the truck. Her arms had fading bruises from when her father violently held his grip.
"Wanna swim?" Jake asked, interrupting her thoughts. Adelaide grinned at him. She pulled off her shirt, leaving her in her tank top and shorts. Her eyes flickered between him and the water. "I'll race you. First one in the water wins," she said with a competitive grin. She folded her arms and continued, playfully teasing Jake. "What? Scared you might lose to a girl?" she asked with a sly little smirk on her face.

Re: Dedicated to Wolves and Society
Jake
Jake smiled and leaned on his truck looking around the beautiful lake around him. She then pulled off her shirt, and asked to race. Jake pulled off his shirt and his shoes. Before letting out a chuckel. " Me scared, yeah fucking right." Jake gave an evil grin and took off. Looking back at the shocked girl, but she was quick on his heals. Jake was not going to loose to a chick, but they had done this before. It had always ended up in a tie. Jake picked up the pace and dove into the water.
They both came up at the same time and Jake looked over at her. " Don't tell me it was a tie again?" He asked shaking the water from his raven coloured hair. Jake looked around the lake seeing the animals swimming in the water. He looked down at the water as a large brook trout passed over his foot. Jake gave a smile and looked back at her

Re: Dedicated to Wolves and Society
Adelaide tensed up, knowing that Jake would do something like take off running. She grinned playfully, and just as expected, Jake took off without warning. Adelaide sprinted after him, and it wasn't long before she was right next to Jake, running to the gleaming water. Ever since they were little kids, they were always doing stuff like this. With Adelaide around, almost everything was a competiton. She couldnt help it. Her competitive side was always nearby.
Seeing the water ahead of her, she plunged head-first in the water. A few seconds later she emerged, shivering a bit. She grinned over at Jake, droplets of water dotting her hair. "I thought it'd be a bit warmer.." she said with a shaky laugh. Adelaide shivered one last time, adjusting to the water's temperature. "Don't tell me it was a tie again," said Jake. Adelaide snorted very unladylike, but she honestly could care less though. She shook her head. "No no no. I obviously won," she said with a smirk, playfully teasing Jake. "Anyone can see that." It was most likely a tie, she didnt know, but Adelaide felt like being in a playful/teasy mood.

Re: Dedicated to Wolves and Society
Jake
(( Jake's smiles are better then that lol.))
Jake gave one of his clasic heart melting smiles. " No, I don't think you won." He chuckled. " You never win." Jake said smiling at her. " But I guess I could give it to you this time, but only this time." Jake looked around the lake then dove under the water and grabbed her leg, pulling her under the water then swimming away with a quickness.
Jake felt her hand go around his leg and he looked back at her. they did this all the time. And she knew Jake hated being held under the water. The guy Jake has hated for years held him under the water when they were kids, and nearly killed jake. Although he doesn't hate the water, he just hates being held there are not being able to get away. Jake started to flip alittle shaking his foot from her grip and swim up to the bank. When she came up Jake was panting slightly. " Don't fucking do that!" Jake yelled, not in a mean way, in a " I;m freaking the hell out" way.

Re: Dedicated to Wolves and Society
Adelaide stood tensely, mentally preparing herself for whatever Jake was gonna do while he was under the water. He probably going to pull her down under, that was most likely. But maybe he was just swimming... Adelaide took that thought into mind, and for a split second she let her guard down and relaxed her self slightly. And just at that moment as she had let her guard down, Jake had pulled her down.
She yelped aloud, as she felt his hand around her ankle. She absolutely hated it when he did that. With a splash, Adelaide fell down in the water. Water dripped down her hair. She looked up at Jake with a slight smirk and a gleam of mischief and revenge in her eyes. Moving extremely fast, Adelaide dove under and pretty soon she was about to do the same thing to Jake as he had done to her. But she wasnt gonna yank him down. She knew he hated it. She was only gonna freak him out about it. Jake squirmed his ankle out of her grasp, and soon, he was standing on the bank. "Don't fucking do that!" Jake said. Adelaide stood up, the water reaching mid-waist. She folded her arms. "You're the one who started it," she said. Sure, her response was kinda like those of little kids blaming other kids, but she knew Jake for too long, ever since they themselves were little kids. It didn't matter how she sounded.

Re: Dedicated to Wolves and Society
Jake
Jake a a chidish frown and looked down at the girl in the water. " So." The raven haired boy said folding his arms and sitting in the long grass. Jake looked around seeing where his dogs were then looked back at her. " Sorry for yelling, you just know I hate that." The boy unfolded his arms and picked up a blade of grass, taking it in his fingers he carefully tied it in nots over and over again, making sure not to rip the fragile plant.
Jake's head shot uo when he heard the sound of his cell phone from over on a log. The boy stood and picked up the phone. Looking down at the screen he read over the message from Sheaba. His thumbs flew over the screen and he looked back at the lake. " We need to go, Sheaba just brought a really sick dog in." He said grabbing his shirt, before calling the dogs. Jake pulled open the tail gate letting the dogs in before he walked over and got in himself. He waited for the girl to get in before he started the truck and pulled away from the beautiful place.
