Nicole got on the table thingy when the doc told her to. He started the ultra sound and looked at the screen. "Twins" he announced. Nicole looked at paul.

The doctor looked at the screen again. "They look fine." He got out his stethescope and listed for the heartbeats. He got one then moved it a little searching for the other one. He looked at them. "Only one heartbeat. I'm sorry."

Paul gulped. "O-only one? C-can't you check a-again?" he could feel tears in his eyes. He hadn't even met the kids and he cared about them so much.....

Nicole closed her eyes and a tear slipped down her cheek.

The doctor sighed,"sure." He kept searching for the other heartbeat but couldn't find it. He held the stethescope out to Paul. "If you want you can try. But I can't find it."

Doctor nods and looks at his watch. "Well. Nice meeting your dead baby but its my break now. See ya!" He walked out. Nicole jumped up and ran out the door.
