He rose an eyebrow, but wasn’t mad about. Actually, he was pretty happy. Considering just yesterday, she wanted nothing to do with him, and now she wanted to be with him longer than he knew she ever would. Moving closer, he placed a hand on his cheek. “Oh? Care to elaborate?”

He looked shocked for a moment, but than his facial expression softened into a light smile. “That sounds nice…but neither of us are ready. We’re still young and you’re in the hospital.” He twined their fingers. “Wait. Ohkay?” He said, kissing her gently.

She chuckled at this question. “Allie. And that’s about it. But my mom calls me that. Everyone else calls me Alice. And you? What nicknames have you come up with out of Kade?”

Allie rang a bell for Kade. He thought then looked at Alice. Well, K from a girl friend that I had, Kadey from a girl I used to hang out with when I was younger, can't remember who though. King Kobra from Baseball. And yeah... that's about it.

Kadey? Kadey. Kadey. A little boy flashed across her memory. Their smiling faces and the giggles they shared over private jokes. “You’re Kadey?” Alice asked, shocked and confused. She thought she would never see him again. They used to be best friends back when they were younger.

“Ever since I left Florida, I’ve been moving around a lot. Stay here for a month move there for a year. Same old same old. Been going on for half my life.” She sighed and looked down at the sand. “Don’t know how long I’m staying here either.” She muttered. Great, she might be leaving when she just found her child hood friend. Could life get any worse?

She rose an eyebrow, “Depends,” She said, leaning back in the sun warmed sand. “What do you have in mind?” Alice was still fairly new to this town, she didn’t know what it had to offer. Where as Kade had probably been here for a while. A year perhaps? Two? She still didn’t know, they were just catching up. Alice hadn’t seen Kade in thirteen years. She was nineteen now.

He sighed and rubbed his temples, deep in thought. “When are you getting out of here? Have the doctors given you anything? Like a date?” He asked, taking her hand in his once more. Like always, he en-twined their fingers. “Lawndree…” He said, not bothering with the answer for the first question. “What suddenly changed your mind? You said you wanted to stay single, like your sister. But then when I saw you in the hospital, you now want to have a future with me. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love that..but why the change of heart?” he asked, eyes sparkling as he looked up at her.

She smiled, “Your house? Mind playing me a song on your guitar? Maybe I’m better than you. Like I was at jump rope.” Yes, Alice had gotten Kade to play jump rope with her and all the other girls. And he did. What a loyal little boy. That’s why Alice liked him so much. In a friend way, and I crush way. He was always willing, and he was fun and cute. Kade never turned down an idea. He liked trying new things. Same old Kade.

Kade nodded. Sure, let's head there. He walked towards the house and when he got there he walked in and up to his room on the 2nd floor. He walked into his room and sat on his bed, grabbing his guitar. You can use the other one over there. He nodded to the corner.

She followed, looking around at the scenery. It was so different from where she last lived. Kade’s room was full of band posters, and CD’s. It looked kind of like Alice’s room. She had Black Veil Bride posters up, Breaking Benjarmin, Three Days Grace, etc. Picking up the guitar she sat on the bed next to Kade and layed it in her lap. She placed her hand on the neck and the other one down to strum.

Chase looked at her. "Same old boring life of Chase." He chuckled as he flipped his hair out of his eyesight.

Lawndree felt the warmth and the feeling of their hands together, then answered. "I don't recall hearing it, or reading it." She thought for a moment before answering his next question. "Well I realized how much time we've spent together, and how faith wanted us together. If we did split, then all of our past together was for nothing. And I couldn't let that happen."

She smiled, remembering the song very well. It was by Auburn, Alice had picked it out. The name was, “Best Friend.” Every time Kade sang it to her, she cracked a smile and blushed a little. Over the years, she had learned how to play it herself, so she started playing with Kade. Later on, once she was solid with her guitar, she started singing to.

He gave a warm smile as he draped an arm around her waist. “I just didn’t want to loose you. You’ve grown on me Lawndree and if you left those memories would haunt me day in and day out. Now they’re presious reminders of the times I’ve had with you.” He said, gently kissing her forehead.
