"Well, aside from you." Sighing, she stood up and skillfully ran down the bleachers, nearly bumping into Chris. "Oh, sorry…" she said softly.

Emma whipped around, anger contorting her features as she suddenly glared at Dustin. "I'm not some toy you can use whenever you want, Dustin!" she yelled, jumping off the last seat in the bleachers. This is exactly how her last relationship had gone, except that last time, Emma couldn't do anything. Turning to Chris, she scowled and slapped him in the face hard. "Don't call me that!" she snapped, her violet eyes burning.

Emma was about to shout something at Dustin when he kissed her, melting away the words that were on the tip of her tongue as she gave in to him. This is exactly why she had said yes when he asked her to be his girlfriend. Pulling away, she felt her heart skip a beat at his words, her violet eyes softening as she looked into his. "I'm sorry…" she breathed, shutting her eyes and burying her face in his chest. "It's just… I-I've been hurt before… and I just don't want you to be someone like that…"
