Akira snuck a glance at Chris. She had secretly been crushing on him for a while now. She didn't see him look at her though. Just to stall time and be able to see him more, she reopened her locker and busied herself, rearranging books.

Akira opened her eyes and saw him walking towards her. Her heart skipped a beat, was he coming to talk to her. She saw the ball and resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Of course he just wanted his ball back. Whatever. She picked the ball up and walked to meet him.

Akira smiled and nodded, handing him the ball. Her stomach felt like it was filled with butterflies. "Yes..and you're Chris." She stated dumbly, well of course he knew his name. "Well...of course you're Chris..you aren't someone else...I just..um...." She stopped herself, knowing she probably sounded stupid.

Akira flipped bangs out of her eyes and looked down. "Um...so you like football? Do you like cheerleaders?" She shifted nervously from one foot to the other. If being a cheerleader was what it took for him to like her, then it was a sacrifice she'd have to make.
