How do you like my story so far? (:
Adrenaline(: [MY NEW STORY]
Okay, I wrote this new Egyptian Mythology story...tell me if you like it! (BTW: Hailey is NOT the same one from my old story; just using the name.)
Prologue
Do you believe in mythology?
Egyptian mythology, I mean. The monsters, the myths, the Gods. Sometimes, it gets awfully scary. But there are some love scenes. Some monsters, animals, some legends. Some Gods claimed their spots in the sky, I believe. Or was that the Greeks?
Oh, whatever. Doesn’t matter.
Anyway, the house I live in is called Osiris. It was all based off the Egyptian God Osiris, the God of the dead. Isn‘t that a little bit scary? Last year, I came to Osiris house at my parents’ yearning for a better child, one with more knowledge. I’ve gotten captured, made some friends, learned some new things, and even found love on the way, all on the course of one year. It’s been pretty great.
Exactly seventeen years ago on this day, I was born. After many, many, many of those monsters and strange creatures being cast into the afterlife, they’ve been slowly but surely resurrecting. I’ve been seeing them in my dreams and I can not help but think it’s got something to do with me. I’ve been having visions of the great God Osiris in the night. And I thought that after I left my home in America, my worries were done for.
I was so wrong.
It’s not my fault that this is all happening. Buzz (scary name, right?), the supervisor of the house, calls me “accident-prone” behind my back. Let me assure you though, I never expected (or wanted) any of this to happen.
Almost a year ago, I was just a normal girl working at McDonald’s, trying to save up some money. Now, I’m involved in some adventure I never saw coming. It’s intense. It’s scary. But most of all, more than anything, I discovered that I’m no wimp, I’m no Chicken Little. I’m Hailey Ryan Pierce, and I like it.
Part I.

Chapter 1
The lights shone only dimly over the lake, people smiling and laughing. I held onto a plastic cup of punch that Ellen, the housekeeper, had made for us, smiling and talking with everyone. Or, at least, everyone from the house.
It was my seventeenth birthday.
Music played loudly as we all socialized. This had to be one of my best birthdays ever. Back home in America, my parents could barely pay for the cheapest restaurant on the block. This was incredible. Lights, music, food…did they do this for everyone’s birthday, too? Or for just the new kids that had come earlier?
Either way, I was enjoying it.
“…and then, we’re going to take you to this great food place for dinner tomorrow…you’re going to love it!” My ‘guide’ Tiffany squealed, making a big show of showing off her perfectly manicured fingers when she held her hands up in a ‘raise the roof’ gesture.
“Cool!” I said. I meant it, too. It was seriously cool that I was getting all of this just for my birthday. Even presents, too. This was a pretty good birthday for me.
Then, Mitchell (another one of my friends) came over, sipping punch. “Do I get to come?” he joked, lifting the corners of his lips slightly in a smile.
Tiffany hit him lightly. “No, silly! Only the girls get to come.”
“Shoot.” He chuckled, taking another small sip of his drink.
Tiffany shook her head at me, mouthing out, “Can you believe this guy?”
I shook my head, grinning.
All of a sudden, Ellen came through the crowd with a birthday cake, starting the birthday song. Softly, then everyone joined in and it got louder. I couldn’t help but smile.
When they got to, “Happy birthday dear Hailey…” I saw something in the sky. It made the loudest noise ever. At first, it didn’t interrupt their singing, but when they turned around and saw the cause of the noise too, they all stopped.
“Run!” cried Ellen, seeing the flaming object falling from the sky. She dropped the butter cream frosted cake onto the ground.
Mason (that’s my boyfriend!) grabbed me, pulling me away as fast as humanly possible away from the object. We both hit hard asphalt, breathing slowly and evenly. We heard a loud boom.
“It’s really pretty for a party crasher.” Mason whispered, not being able to stop his soft laughing.
Good old Mason.
His laughing was interrupted by a loud voice that sounded like it was coming from all around us.
“Inhabitants of Osiris, your time has run out!” There was a form that the fire had made, but I could only make it out slightly. From the looks of it, it was a tall, slender man beast, wearing old garments that we’d only ever seen in our history textbooks.
It was only then that I realized that he had the head of an animal that appeared to have some sort of snout. It was Osiris.
I was shaking, not at the cold (actually, it couldn’t be cold. It was summer.) but at fear. Mason held his body against mine, dragging me down so that we crouched lower behind the bushes. His breathing was uneven now, too. Really.
When we saw the flashing and flames leave the scene and the night grow dark, we both slowly got up. All of us, almost completely in sync.
None of my birthday bash was left. Only a scorch mark from where the God had been. It smelled of ashes.
It appeared we were all in for another year of drama and excitement. Another year of heart pumping, true adrenaline.

Yes, I understand that. =^-^= It's still being edited, so there will be a few mistakes...and about the fire, I just wanted a dramatic entrance.
