I smiled at her and nodded in response. I closed my eyes as I proceeded to lick her wounds. When I didn't think I could lick anymore I gave her cheek a slightly affectionate lick and laid down silently beside her. I laid my head on my paws and glanced at her every so often. I smiled to myself, happy I had this amazing time to spend with this amaranthine female. My tail flicked behind me, occasionally brushing against her.

My eyes widened slightly when her tail twisted with mine and my heart was beating faster than the speed of light. It was amazing what one little girl could do to me. I closed my eyes when I felt her warm, soft tongue slide against my cheek. Everything about her drove me crazy, and I just had to ask. "Um...Luna? Do you...uh...well...ahem...I mean...do you...have a mate...yet? Or anyone chosen already?" I asked sheepishly. Why would I ask that unless I liked her? I kinda just admit that I wanted to be her mate. Oh well, it's too late now. My ears hoped to hear her velvet voice say no. But if she didn't...would she ever like me? Would I ever gather the guts to ask her to be mine? Forever? I knew that was what I wanted. I had never met anyone else like her before, and I really, really fell hard for her. I love Luna, and I want her to return my love like an endless cycle. I wanted her to be mine forever, my mate, my Alpha, my love. Thats all I wanted from life now. If it's not what she wanted, then fine. I would just devote my life to keeping her safe and happy. Until the day I die, and beyond.

"Oh...okay..." I said before quieting down. I stared off into space just thinking. I didn't know if I should ask her and I didn't want to risk upsetting her or anything, so I didn't ask. I closed my eyes and rested my head on my paws, just laying there beside her with our tails twined together. I smiled.

After a while of argueing with myself I decided it was okay to be a little more affectionate towards Luna since she was fast asleep. I flicked our tails and smiled, moving closer to her so my fur mixed with hers, blending perfectly and warming her. I smiled and laid my head over hers protectively, my chest slightly arched over her neck protectively, too. I let myself fall into an extremely light sleep and I flicked my tongue out once to lick her ear affectionately.

I smiled in my sleep. I slept through the night without any disturbances from Hope or anyone else and I continued to sleep through a bit of the morning. I didn't want to wake up before Luna. Today I was going to see how she acted around me, and if she seemed to like me quite a bit then I'd ask her to be my mate, and of course I'd have to be prepared for rejection as that was what would most likely happen. I rested and guarded over her all through the night and morning, my secret love right beneath me with her soft, warm black fur melding perfectly with mine. I nuzzled her ear with my nose happily when I awoke and I just rested there as I waited for her to wake up.

"Morning!! Everyone up and at 'em!!" I yelled. Mostly I wanted to go back to sleep myself but... flying dreams didn't agree with me. I looked around. "Sheesh. L-A-Z-Y much?" I muttered. I practically skipped to the icy river and jumped in to wake myself up. Now that i could think a bit clearer from the effects of the cold water.

I laid in the snow with my head on my paws, sore and a bit tired from fighting the other day. Luna was still missing, meaning I was in charge for the time being. Everyone really took care of themselves so I didn't really need to worry about taking charge and such. I was quite sure Luna wasn't dead, as Dark Knight had run off with her and he seemed rather caring of her.

"Morning. Sleep well?" I asked with a smile. I gave her head a lick. "So...um...can I ask you something?" I asked nervously, gazing down at her. It felt like the right time to ask.

"No, lay back down. Its better for you that way," I said quietly. I would tell an Alpha what to do when I loved her and wanted to help her get better. I gave her cheek another lick. Just get it over with. "I really like you, Luna. I-I want to be your mate...if you will have me," I said nervously. I sat at her side silently, my heart pounding. I was so scared she would say no, yet that was what I was expecting her to say.

My heart stopped and I practically died, then her other words registered. SHE SAID YES!! I yipped out in joy and nuzzled her, licking her muzzle continuously before moving to lick every inch of her. When I got back to her head I paused. "I love you, too," I murmered, nudging her gently and affectionately, rubbing against her before finally settling carefully and gently atop her, my weight barely touching her. I laid my head over hers and smiled. "You're so beautiful. You're amazing. I'm the luckiest guy in the world," I finally said the words I had always longed to speak ever since I had met her.
