TT: It's fine. And if anyone is going to appreciate it, it's going to be John.
TT: Now please, don't make me come over there myself and press the button for you.
TT: I'll talk to you later.

Dave sighed, running a hand through his hair, just to have it fall back to it's usual position. He couldn't help but be shaking at the minute, but it was totally not his fault. He had not been expecting it to be so damn cold in Washington state. Of course... everything felt cold to a pure blood Texan like him he assumed. He steeled himself a little bit before pressing the small round button with his middle finger hearing the bell go off from inside the house. He was regretting this already.
It hadn't been that long ago that he had managed to convince Bro to let him go to Washington to visit John. Even though the dweeb was not Bro's favourite person in the world the older Strider could understand wanting to go see a friend that lived far away so had helped him get the money for a plane ticket to Maple Valley. Now though he could hear footsteps in the house and he felt his heart beat speed up, his lips became dry and he found himself trying to calm his breathing... again.
The door opened and John's father stood in the doorway. “Uh, yo. Is Egb-... John home?” He asked tucking his hands in his pockets and trying to look as chill as he could. The man on the other side of the door nodded and ushered the Strider into the house though Dave could practically see the question mark floating above his head. He stepped into the house and sat down on the couch by the fireplace as he was instructed to by the other man as he walked up the stairs, presumably to go get John.
Eridan Ampora walked with a dignified stride into the transportilizer, disappearing in a flash of white just to reappear in the lab. Sure enough the bulgesack he was looking for was sitting at his computer typing away at what could only be a code of some sort. Or he was chattin up Aradia, because he didn't have the guts to talk to her in person even though she was sitting right coddamn next to him.
Feferi was alone in the hornpile, looking so beautiful, so regal in her sleep, Eridan found his expression soften as he looked at her but he quickly gained the glare back as he walked up to Sollux and stood behind him, clearing his throat and frowning. When there was no reaction he spoke up, “Hey! Landwweller! Acknowwledge I'm talkin to you! Wwe havve somethin' to talk about!” He said in his loud and strange voice.
This imporant talk was of course talking to the other about what he was sure was their pending Kismesis relationship, even if the other didn't see it as pending... he didn't see it at all. Eridan was going to change his mind, there was no way this was just some platonic hate going on between the two of them. His talking roused Feferi from her sleep and the seadweller was now looking over at him with a confused and disappointed look on her face, her frown large across her face. Looking at her standing up for this low blood disgusted Eridan to no end. He hated the fact that Sollux had stolen the woman who was going to be his Matesprit from him, ruined his chances for good, she had even dropped him as a moirail because of Sollux. It just made him hate the mustard blood even more... made him want him even more. He knew how black these feelings were and they were starting to drive him crazy. The amount he wanted Sollux. Needed him. HATED him.

John looked over at his dad when he opened the door. “You've got a friend over. He's downstairs.” John asked who it was, “I don't know.” was the response to his question. John stood up, turning off his computer as he walked out of the room after his did. He walked down the stairs and his eyes moved to the blond sitting on his couch he had no idea who this guy was. He moved so he could see him from the front and suddenly everything clicked inside of his head and his eyes opened wide. “Holy sh- Dave!? Is that you!?” He asked, gaping at the Strider.
Dave had been joking about coming to visit for a while now but John had always thought it was just that, a joke. But here he was, sitting on his couch, in the flesh. John plopped himself down on the couch beside the other guy and scratched the back of his own head, messing up his already messy black hair. “Jeez, I wasn't expecting you to actually show up. You could have actually told me that you were going to be here. I would have been able to actually, y'know greet you.” He said getting all awkward with Dave there.
It was nice to see him though, be very nice. If there was one thing he could say about Dave though it was that he was more stunning in person than John had ever expected him to be. He could see that he was a strong person with the way he held himself. Dave had always said something alone the lines of 'no one can resist a Strider' and now that John was in the presence of one of them he could understand why.
---
Sollux stopped typing when Eridan spoke, he hadn't heard the first attempt at getting his attention, as Eridan had guessed, and he was tempted to just ignoring the high blood but he didn't. He turned and looked up at him, his bi-colored eyes sharpened into a glare behind the dual colored lenses. “Ther'th no way you have something important to talk about ED. I'm not going to be your kithmethith and I'm not going to leave FF so you can try and make some lame ath move on her.” He said turning back to his computer and shaking his head.
He knew this wasn't going to be over with just this though and that Eridan would persist for a while longer. “And no I won't duel with you either. In cathe you haven't noticed I'm buthy.” He said with his lisp, his fingers coming back up to the keyboard as he began to type away at his code again. Trollian began blinking but he didn't dare look at it while Eridan was standing right behind him, especially since he was expecting a conflict to arise with him

Dave looked up when John came into view and the small indifferent frown he wore dissolved into a huge grin sprawled across his face as the dorky kid recognized him. “On your first guess to, I'm impressed man. The one and only, Dave Strider.” He said letting his accent slip as he spoke, a little bit to excited seeing John in person for the first time. It took all he could not to gush over it, but how uncool would that have been.
“Man, John, it's fuckin cold up here. How the hell do you stand it.” he said shivering slightly as he did so, it was even cold in the house, he thought it had been bad outside but it was just as bad inside. He wasn't going to start begging for something warm or anything, but he thought he would point it out to the other, thinking it might be a good way to start up a conversation. Though usually weather talk was cliched and stupid, he couldn't help it, despite himself he felt as though this whole meeting was quite awkward. That fact was really obvious on John, Dave himself would never let the other know that he was feeling really awkward just sitting their.
“It's good to see you man...” Dave said quietly, looking into the unlit fireplace as he said it, scratching the back of his neck as well. John wasn't the post pleasant site but he could tell that the other was very happy to see Dave there. Dave had been joking about coming up to Washington for a long time now so he was sure this dweeb was shocked beyond belief that the real thing would actually show up at his door. Let alone be sitting on his couch waiting for him. He would admit that just before he got here, well actually... pretty much on the entire plane ride over he was terrified that John wouldn't want him there, would kick him out, or wouldn't be happy at all and Dave was pretty sure that that would crush him. That was the reason he had been bothering Rose about it as he had.
So far so good. John's father still seemed a little bit confused Dave noticed that he seemed to be walking, for no reason, between the stairs and what Dave had to guess was the kitchen door, maybe trying not to be to obvious, but it wasn't really working all that well. Dave couldn't help but compare the older man to Bro, they were very different and Dave could already tell why John wasn't all to fond of his father when he snuck around the house like this to spy on him and his friends.
Eridan opened his mouth to say something, head held in a cocky fashion his expression saying 'thats wwhat you think!' but that was quickly shot down as Sollux finished talking, shooting down absolutely every single one of his reasons for standing there now. And now that he had no reason for standing there he felt like a tool. His shoulders hunched slightly and he got a confused and defeated look on his face as he tried to find something to say to the mustard blooded troll.
He heard laughing behind him, the same bubbly giggle that he had listened to and loved for years. His eyes opened wide behind his thick rimmed glasses as he turned and looked at Feferi who was shaking her head. Eridan couldn't believe that she would find this whole situation funny. His glare returned and so did his regal posture as he turned back to Sollux, spinning his chair around and leaning in, snarling at him, his face maybe an inch or two away from the others, their noses practically brushing.
“Noww look here you brine sucking bottom feeder! You knoww that wwe wwere meant to be kismesis! And I am wwilling to duel you into acceptance. Noww get to your feet this cod damn instant!” Eridan yelled, snarling at Sollux, his black lips pulled up to show off his menacing teeth, “I wwill not let you deny my, Sol.” He added in an attempt to make his words sound final.

”It's not that cold Dave. You're just comparing Washington to Texas, which is unfair.” John said laughing. “If it really bothering you, I could go get you a sweater or something...” He suggested looking over at the stairs. He had been about to go and get up to get Dave something to wear when Dave spoke up again. The words stopped John in his tracks. His blue eyes locked onto Dave who was avoiding looking at him. John wondered if he could see a blush on Dave's face, he didn't think so, but that thought stuck.
“Um, why don't we go upstairs.” John said standing up and looking down at Dave. “There's plenty of things to stare into up there too.” He joked putting a big smile on his face. The black haired teen turned and saw his dad walking towards the kitchen from the stairs again. “We're going upstairs. Would you bring up some food later?” John asked. His dad nodded slowly before walking into the kitchen.
John started towards the stairs, “Come on Dave. We probably have a whole lot to talk about.” John said as he started up them, knowing Dave would follow him. He was still a little befuddled with the fact that Dave was actually in his house. He kept looking over at the blond. His eyes wouldn't believe it. He was incredibly happy to have him here. All the things he wanted to do with Dave and wanted to show him ran through his head. But the most important thing he was thinking about was how much he hoped Dave didn't notice how much he was staring at him.
Sollux didn't even flinch when his chair was spun around. Being face to face with Eridan all he could find himself doing was glaring. Then there was insults, lots of insults. The volume of pathetic pouring off of Eridan was almost to much to even handle. “I'm only going to say thith onthe. I will never become your kithmethith.” He pushed Eridan away. “If I win thith duel, you have to leave me the fuck alone, fackath.” He said as he stood up. Eridan was taller than him but not by much. The seadweller was clearly built stronger though. But that didn't mean anything when you used psionic powers to fight.
“Come on then.” Sollux said walking to the transportilizer and disappearing. He ended up in the room with two transortilizers, taking the one that lead down stairs. He was pretty sure everyone else was upstairs right now. He hadn't really been paying attention to all the trolls in the room up there. He made his way through the building to a room that was filled with useless computers that had been torn up for parts. There was also a lot of chests in the room probably filled with all the useless shit these idiots liked to keep in them. This was a room he would be able to work with. There was enough stuff around that he could do serious damage with.
“Alright, fuckath, letth get thith started.” he said turning around to face Eridan. His body started to glow between red and blue and his feet lifted from the floor. When he was a few feet in the air he stopped there and hovered. He would wait for Eridan to make the first move. This was going to be easy.

Re: [Homestuck--Hivebent] Flushed - Caliginous;; yo egbert, wwhat up? {For Chris}
Dave shrugged at John's words, so what if he was comparing this place to Texas, that was pretty damn normal if he did say so himself. He had grown up in the warm state and was used to the heat so of course he was going to comment on how much colder it was up here compared to down there. Dave didn't take his eyes away from the unlit fireplace none the less. If there was one thing he could tell though it was that John kept looking over at him.; kept staring at him. Dave didn't mind, he kind of liked the attention from the dweeby little brat. His best friend.
He looked up when John stood, blinking a couple times behind his sunglasses. “Alright, man.” He said standing up and following John up the stairs. He looked over at John's dad when the other teenager spoke to him. Thinking about it now he was definitely hungry, he hadn't had anything to eat since the plane landed, and he hadn't eaten much of anything on the way over here as well. He felt his stomach twist in with the pains of hunger.
Up in John's room he sat down on the bed and looked around, it was exactly how he had pictured it with all the lame movie posters plastered everywhere. “So I'm guessing you're going to ask why I'm here or something. Or how have you been... or something equally lame.” Dave said with a shrug, “I'm here to visit you and I've been good.” He said smirking slightly. He sort of half consciously pulled the blankets on John's bed up over his shoulder curling himself up in the. The time around though he kept his eyes on his friend, not wanting to look away from him. Catching him every
time he glanced in the Strider's direction.
He rubbed his eye a little, pushing his sunglasses up slightly, but not enough to let John see his bright reds. Dave could admit that he was incredibly tired right now, he hadn't gotten any sleep on the flight. So these powerful feelings of hunger and fatigue were probably going to end up making him look like a totally loser... but he could come to that when he got there.
Eridan let himself get pushed away his eyes following Sollux as he moved about. He was fine with the conditions of the battle, he would gladly give up if Sollux won... but Sollux wasn't going to win. He smirked slightly equipping Ahab's Crosshairs from his sylladex as he followed Sollux down through into the depths of the building. He was hardly aware of how Solllux would be fighting. Almost completely forgetting about the fact that he would be using the stuff around him until the other was floating high above his head, and even then it wasn't the most important thing on his mind.
“I hope you're prepared to meet your doom!” Eridan yelled holding up his rifle and pointing it up at Sollux with a huge toothy sneer on his face. The prince locked onto the yellow blooded troll and pulled the trigger, a brilliant white light shot out of the end of the legendary weapon shotoing right towards its target. He sort of had a feeling that this first hit would end up missing, but it wasn't like Eridan was actually TRYING with the first hit, of course he wanted to save the best for last, and it wasn't like he wanted him to die on the first hit, where would the fun be in that. He would wound him severely first, have his fun with the wounded Sol and then he would let him decide he wanted to be his kismesis or kill him. It was really just that simple.
Eridan held his head high, incredibly sure of himself. He didn't see how he could possibly lose this fight. If he lost this battle to the mage he would probably give up all hope. But even if this one shot didn't hit he would make sure that he kept things in his favour.. even if he couldn't get up there and fly with the other troll. He would have the advantage from the ground just fine.
